Erysimum capitatum is typically bright yellow as shown in the first photograph taken in the dark shales at the base of Lizard Head, July 2, 2004, but in the high mountains of the Animas River drainage flower color ranges from bright yellows to the soft lemons shown and hot pinks shown in the next three photographs taken on the Black Bear Pass Road, July 20, 2008.
